JWPlayer Version 5.9 and Facebook Inline playing

My company has required me to play our videos right from Facebook. I have read this is not longer possible in versions 6+. First of all why?? This is a very important feature and do not understand why you have stop allowing this. Secondly is there any date or are you working into fix this? Third and last where can I get a 5.9 version of the player so we could complete the Facebook requirement?

Thanks.-

Andres

Sure, if you have a license, you can email us – support <at> jwplayer <dot> com, and we can send you JW5.

Basically, the OG (Facebook OpenGraph) method of embedding videos does not work with JW6. It works with JW5. This was removed from JW5 to JW6 because this method of embedding opens up XSS vulnerabilities.

Hi Ethan,

Does this mean it's a technically insurmountable problem and there are no plans to fix it? If/when I plan to renew my subscription this would be useful to know but your response gives no indication either way.

We are looking for a way to address this in JW6, but we need to be careful about how we do it, because we don’t want to open up XSS.
