Discrepancies Between DFP & Longtail Video View Counts

I use DFP on my site with JW Player Ads Edition v6.8, serving prerolls before every video that we host. I haven't been able to reconcile the video views between DFP and Longtail since we activated the player last week (with Longtail's reporting at times showing 50% more views a day). Would you be able to help?

Is there any information that you could share about every possible reason that Longtail's reporting would show a different total of views? Please let me know if you need any info, thanks for your help!

Our reporting is for video plays only, not ads. Are you sure that every time a video is played, an ad serves?
