We currently seek to the beginning of each segment.

Thanks for the reply but that's not really good enough. Our clients notice right away that it's not seeking exactly and chapters don't work properly. Along with play, pause, and volume, seeking is one of the basic functionalities and expectations of a player.
As I said, we are a Premium customer but unfortunately we'll have to look at alternatives as the non-tech people in my company and client-base won't really accept approximate seeking as a solution.

Well, how long are your segments?
10 seconds. It doesn't bother me but we have big enterprise clients who freak out.
What is the shortest viable value for a segment? I'm using Amazon Elastic Transcoder programmatically so I believe I can control that setting.
Thanks for replying so quickly. I really want this to work somehow because I have spent a lot of time over the last several months integrating your player (and everything else about it works great).
The other alternative might be to display MP4 in "normal" mode and somehow switch to HLS when they go to fullscreen -- is this possible?
To further explain the last point -- I have set up a utility where users can add chapters to their videos like a table of contents. This table of contents is displayed outside the player but the expectation is that when you click on one of the items it will jump right to that spot in the video.
So if this table of contents doesn't show up in full screen mode, that is fine. The HLS is only for full screen HD quality. I am also encoding MP4 versions that can be used when not in full screen for accurate seeking but of course the MP4 doesn't do as well full screen.
I would try 5 seconds.
