Empty Ad Tag

Hi!

Our Cutomer wants to deliver VAST Tags even if there are no Ads to Play
Anyway, the Impression has to be fired, but it wont fire even if i set forceImpressionServing true

Can you give me any advice, how to create an "empty" VAST File, that works?

The Vast File:

You would have to make a static xml tag, with a blank media file in it – http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/jw-player/31403/static-vast-xml-tag

I tried that
Using this static Vast File
http://uvp.apa.at/emptyvast2.xml

But a blank MediaFile wont work at all, and blank mediafiles generates an ad error

Do you have an example for a empty Vast Tag that is accepted by JW Player?

You need at least a media file, like a 1 second mp4 file, it can’t be totally blank.

I would make a file longer than 1 second, I would try at least 2. Does that work?

Hi Ethan!

It works at least with a 1:07 file, thanx fr all the Support!

Is it possible to request a feature for "real" Empy Vast Files support, i.e. with an empty MediaFile Tag that fires the impression?

I'm afraid there are some customers out there who need this and won't accept 1 sec black before...
