iFrame problem with JW player v6 and fullscreen

Hello,

I am trying to add jw player in iFrame and to use fullscreen outside iframe, but fullscreen is working only in iFrame. Is there any way to make real fullscreen outside iFrame?
I have placed "allowFullScreen" attribute on iFrame but it doesn't help at all.

Can you please give me some advice how I can use real full screen with html5 playback.

@Stanislav

To see that in action visit my web site where you are able to view the web site in fullscreen or normal modes.

Works very well with Gecko and Webkit rendering engines.

Everything is done internally, you know that.

I have the same problem...is this going to be a JW player fix or do I have to look for a workaround?

We need to fix this for html5 mode. Or you can set primary to flash for the mean time.

Any news on the fix?

@Milan

You are able to view my web site in "fullscreen" mode and the JWPlayer works very well in that mode.

Just set allowfullscreen on the iframe.

@Ethan -

I am having the same issue in safari 6.0 and ie10...

Setting primary: 'flash' solved the problem but I would rather the primary was HTML5.

Is there a ticket for this?

Sure....

http://www.robert-mitchell.net/vualto/noiframe.html

This will go fullscreen but wrap it in an iframe and it will not...

http://www.robert-mitchell.net/vualto/withiframe.html

This *only* occurs on safari 6.0 and ie10. I have tested in safari 5.1.7 and ie9 and do not have the same issue.

To cure it i set the primary to flash...

Here is some, I think, helpful information for you
https://dvcs.w3.org/hg/fullscreen/raw-file/tip/Overview.html

I think, in fact believe, the issue lies with IE10 as it does have issues when IE10 in in standard mode. Have you tried the IE10 'quirks' mode a new feature in IE10?

I would avoid using the flashmode of the JWPlayer, the html5mode works great. I exclusively use the html5mode on my web site with three exceptions in examples that are remnants of my old flash web site. With them I use the object engine of HTML5 to display flash.

I wonder IF you (a) style your iframe as relative and (b) it a high z-index would solve your issue.

There is another way to achieve what you or trying to accomplish and that is to use Robert Nyman, technical evangelist at Mozilla and editor of Mozilla hacks.

http://robnyman.github.io/fullscreen/

I had initially used his method for my web site but discovered two issues namely, vertical centering and loading additional content into the iframe.

Both were resolved and now you are able to view my web site as previously mentioned in either fullscreen and normal screen.

If I can be of help feel free to ask

@Rob – Thanks, can you please leave these links up so we can investigate?

@Willie - thanks for the info.

@Ethan - I can leave them up for as long as you want.

What is interesting is it does make the player fullscreen but only within the iframe!

Currently, the behaviour of HTML5 fullscreen in an iframe is inconsistent and depends upon the browser. We’ll look into this and either ensure fullscreen is 100% supported or the FS button is not showing:

Hi Ethan, I've been following this thread for a few weeks and am impressed by your prompt and helpful responses.

The lack of full screen is somewhat time critical for me and I am thinking of adding "primary: flash." in the embed pages, but would like to avoid it if possible.

Is there an ETA for the full screen fix? Do you think it will be fixed in the next couple of weeks (before July basically) or would it be further down the road?

Cheers,
Jacob

I am not sure of the exact ETA, since the ticket was just recently opened. I would, for now, use flash as the primary embedding method, while this is still an issue, though.
