serving MP4 files with PHP

Hey,

last time i have posted here this thread :

http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/forums/jw-player/setup-issues-and-embedding/32307/streaming-mp4-files-with-skipping-option#comment-181359

which is locked now.

i have been searching on the net for a while and think that i figured out what is the problem, my system using php to serve the MP4 files and thus MP4 pseudo streaming doesn't work for me, i am kinda newbie with this .

ive looked at this page : http://codeblog.palos.ro/2008/11/13/pseudo-streaming-mp4h264-video-from-php/

and tried to implement this with no success, in addition im using JWPlayer5 (and not 4) .

the php extension is installed on my apache server .

this is my current code : http://pastebin.com/HGCRSbX5

and idea of how can i serve the MP4 files ? or any help with implement this mod...

thanks for the help, it is much appreciated .

as it can be seen, now the pseodo-streaming option is not working .

though now im not using the pss extension.. for one reason its working only with JWPlayer 4 and second it disable the watching option for FLV either .

So then you have both modules installed then?

One for MP4 and one for FLV?

Why use FLV if MP4 has been supported by Flash for years now, and more importantly HTML5?

i have one module installed ( http://h264.code-shop.com/trac/wiki )

i have another extension installed from this page : http://codeblog.palos.ro/2008/11/13/pseudo-streaming-mp4h264-video-from-php/ , cause i serve the files with PHP .

and this is what im trying to do, moving to MP4 format, though, as described, skipping option doesnt work for MP4 files for some reason and thus im still working with FLV unfortunately .

I wouldn’t know this either, unfortunately.

Note that, because of its setup and performance issues, we stopped supporting pseudo-streaming with a PHP script in JW6. If you are willing to take a step back, I’d suggest to simply serve videos as plain MP4 with HTML5 primary.

yes, but the problem is that the videos need to be secured .

what are my other options now? do you have any idea who i can apply to ?
