The FLVs of the Chinese video site youku.com play perfectly in Firefox but they don't load in Internet Explorer 6. I'm using JW player version 3.12. I also inserted the FLV in the JW setup wizard and I got the some problem.
Some exaple FLVs: http://125.76.254.152/0100643AA2447E41557FC7000003258B4187DD-9785-F95F-B5D2-A0E9DBBE9F26.flv http://125.76.254.15/0100643AA24625B54BB5B9000764D7427D19E0-9BC7-905A-4C86-CDF983263065.flv http://125.76.254.145/0100643AA244E93D52F7880002B4A3947B5A89-319D-CBDB-0271-3F53CE725D3F.flv
maybe you just need to update the IE plugin: adobe flash versiontest - the videos play fine...
Plays for me, even in Flash 7. bc.. //...Chinese site yoku.com s1.addVariable('file', 'http://125.76.254.152/0100643AA2447E41557FC7000003258B4187DD-9785-F95F-B5D2-A0E9DBBE9F26.flv'); //s1.addVariable('file', 'http://125.76.254.15/0100643AA24625B54BB5B9000764D7427D19E0-9BC7-905A-4C86-CDF983263065.flv'); //s1.addVariable('file', 'http://125.76.254.145/0100643AA244E93D52F7880002B4A3947B5A89-319D-CBDB-0271-3F53CE725D3F'); //...Chinese site yoku.com
Tried this on a few computers from NT/Flash7 through XP/Flash9 Latest BETA. Always worked for the three URLs. bc.. <!DOCTYPEHTMLPUBLIC"-//W3C//DTDHTML4.01//EN""http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
I too get the same problem, FLV doesn't load in microsoft internet explorer. My FLV comes from the localhost and works fine in mozilla but IE gets this problem. How to resolve this?
I have the problem too. IE says something about the active-x application and won't run .flv videos because of it. I find that odd because Microsoft invented active-x.
@ picture Thomas - what happens if you use the *overstretch* flashvar ?
from - *http://code.jeroenwijering.com/trac/wiki/Flashvars3* bc.. *overstretch* (false): Sets how to stretch images/movies to make them fit the display. The default stretches to fit the display. Set this to *true* to stretch them proportionally to fill the display, *fit* to stretch them disproportionally and *none* to keep original dimensions.
edit: studying the code further, my guess is that the whole picture is actually there, but the rotator gets pushed to the right and half the player is hidden behind a stylesheet, because of a conflict between the stylesheets and the tables.
i have tried see if i could find a simple fix or correction, but the tables and stylesheets are so intertwined and convoluted i loose the overview - so you might just have to rebuild the layout using the CMS editor - and see if you can avoid the problem, by keeping the stucture simpler and cleaner...
The problem were clearly all facing is not on-line... Its when were trying to test our work on our PC's!... Has anyone ever found a way around this without having to release "Active X" controls.. Which microsoft highly recommend against???...
I am able to view .flv files on my localhost using Internet Explorer. Are there any additional details you could provide about your setup to help me diagnose the problem?
