How can I make the video play directly in i.e. a Facebook wall

We'd like to make the sharing of a BotR video from a user site onto a Facebook wall as easy, as it is from a YouTube video. I.e. the video is embedded in a blog with player sharing options on. Then when shared the link on the Fbook wall points to the original post - the client would like the video to play directly on the Fbook wall and not redirect to the post URL. (Basically they'd like a sharing routine as in YouTube sic.)

If I understand this correctly, you want us to push the embed code of a video to Facebook instead of the link. Is that so? I haven’t looked into this, but there could indeed be a simple API that Facebook provides for this now. When we originally built the sharing functionalities in our player, this wasn’t there yet.

Yes, it sounds right - even for a newbie like me.
I've posted the same video on a YouTube Channel and the YT/Facebook embed feature makes the video play on the FB-wall page.
If I use the Facebook share button in the JW/BotR player on our site it post an URL back to the site.
(And 2 URL versions, wether the video is playing - or just loaded and not playing - as I discussed with Remco yesterday)
API's seems to be the key for a lot of userfunctionality together with php and java. Unfurtunately I'm not able to translate my clients needs to API coding. BUT I'd like to be able to have that functionality with videos played from the BotR platform.
If possible ?

We’ll investigate if our Facebook share button can post an embed code instead of just a link.

Also, the issue you discussed with Remco turned out to be a bug in our sharing code. We’ll fix that!

Well, do we have any progress with Facebook sharing? It's so easy to share an Youtube video with Facebook or any other social media channel. Do we have something boiling in the Sorcerer's Kitchen?

Yes, yes, what's cooking - my clients (and I) would still love that. I can't tweak things like that to happen. We need you ! ;)

Hi,
I think my question belongs in this thread. I have a swf with cue points connected to my video. Can I use the Flash FLVPlayback component to display only the video (no controller, no ads, etc) from your server while I use my server to play the swf. (I've done this from another streaming site.)

In short, my question is this: Can I get only the flv's url on your site and make it part of what my swf displays?

Thanks,

Hey, I will investigate what is actually needed to get this to work. Once I know more about what is required to get video to embed on Facebook, I will know if this is something that we can do on our end.

Add us to the list of clients that would use this capability, and we'll volunteer to help you test solutions if you like.

We would also love to have this feature enabled for Facebook.
Please let me know your status on this.

Thanks a lot.

Hi, I have figured out what needs to be done in theory (but I’m not a developer either) and one of our developers who does know something about facebook too will implement my findings.
