iPad issues

Having an annoying issue with trying to resize the player on iOS (testing on iPad). Everything is fine in all browsers desktop, but, when I get to mobile the player is somewhat out of control, especially in the first embedded player on the top of the screen.

I'm trying to resize and move with css and it won't budge.

Using JWPlayer 6 free Wordpress plugin.

Check it out here at http://www.thisisstarlife.com

Please help if you can.

Temporary remedy:

For now I have set the videos area at the top to 250px instead of 540px high (I want it to be 540px high)

The issue is when I make it 540px high via CSS, the iPad basically ignores it.

Another issue:
There are often videos that will not show up at all on the player via mobile. These are mostly youtube videos that work fine on desktop. Anyone know what the issue is with those?

The issue here is that we set a minimum height right now on mobile devices. Regarding the videos that are not showing up, do you have an example of that?

A minimum height or a maximum height? It's set via Javascript? ... If it is minimum height then a height setting should override it no?

Is there a way around it?

What are reasons? Performance issue, or what?

If you load that site via iPad you can see some videos not loading into the player for some reason.

This will be fixed with 6.6, which is due out in August.

Thanks Ethan, which one of these issues are you referring to by the way? (hoping for both)

What seems to be out of my hands is the second issue (some videos not playing on iPad/mobile)

The first issue with the height is at least workable... for now I just adjusted the heights of containers of the jwrapper instances. I wonder can we also have a class added to the jw-wrappers in case we rather use a class for all instances rather than having to adjust individual ID. (not sure if this is a wordpress-only concern)

One last thing... ASPECT RATIO. It works so well on desktop but not on mobile.

I have been trying to figure out how to adjust it via youTube perhaps, but, I know jwPlayer adjusts the aspect ratio locally... but not on iPad/mobile.

6.6 will fix the minimum height issues.

Regarding the aspect ratio, can I see an example?

What is the shortcode for this post?

Usually the posters use the default shortcode like... [jwplayer mediaid="4231"]

Do you know what the specific shortcode is for this post i mean?

Ethan,
Yes they are all using the default shortcode such as above simply with ID# difference. There are multiple instances of posts in which the video does not load on mobile but loads on desktop.

The issue here is that you are using YouTube, we simply fall back to the default YouTube player on iOS, and not every YouTube video works in HTML5 yet.
