mediaplayer.swf is gone? How to migrate?

Friendly greetings!

I've been enjoying the wonderful JW player for sometime. However, I noticed recently that http://www.jeroenwijering.com/embed/mediaplayer.swf is a dead link now. :( From the looks of it, many players use this link is there a way it can be redirected?

In either case, what's the new link I should be using? My code is:

bc.. <embed src="http://www.jeroenwijering.com/embed/mediaplayer.swf" width="500" height="250" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars="height=250&width=500&file=http://www.archive.org/audio/xspf-maker.php%3Fidentifier%3Dsolo-piano-7&backcolor=0xCCFFCC&frontcolor=0x000000&lightcolor=0xFF0080&screencolor=0xFF0080&displaywidth=250&volume=75&autoscroll=false&thumbsinplaylist=false&shuffle=true&searchbar=false" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" /></embed>

Thank you very much in advance! :)

Woah! So the greedy, low-life scum pulled the plug on you.

You should host the movie on your own server:bc.. <embed src="http://www.mydomain.com/path/mediaplayer.swf" width="500" ...

You can obtain the movie here: *http://developer.longtailvideo.com/trac/browser/tags*

@Jorr: No, JW created something wonderful. But there are many people who've linked directly to his player during a time when the embed code was made that way. *A redirect would communicate*, "Ah, it's moved, we recommend you host it on your own server now!" or somesuch thing.

@kLink: Thank you! There are a lot of versions... I've tried several but they're not working as expected... I'm not sure how to narrow it down but perhaps you might have some tips? I may recreate the works if this persists, but I'd prefer a smooth migration.

I got things semi-working with an old vers. (3.2) but It appears archive.org has also changed stuff around I reckon I'll use their own embedded player for the moment.

@Torley,

I'm guessing that you were probably getting the v3.17 mediaplayer (the latest) from the www.jeroenwijering.com link.

v3.2 is the *_very oldest_* of the mediaplayers.

@kLink: I kept experimenting, and yes, 3.17 looks like it works correctly. I was briefly confused by that version system. Again, thank-you. *happy*

Hey, My players just stopped working a few days ago. Now I see this new site, somewhat new code.

So I copy what is here now. But I don't really see any support with XML files, although some of the info is being pulled in. I'm still not displaying 'creator' information to the screen.

Any ideas as to how to add this to my file?

Thanks,
Noodles

The downage of mediaplayer.swf and player.swf was unintended. When moving the site, we forgot to redirect those too. Must not have taken longer than a day until the players were up again ;)

Anyway, it’s better to keep a copy of the player on your site. For that, download the player and change the links on your site to the local copy.
