Videos not playing in Safari/iThings

Seems like this is a recurring issue but without any consistent resolution, but my video player isn't working in Safari or on iThings. Works fine in Chrome, FF, IE, and Safari for Windows.

Page in question is here: https://www.ihaforum.org/land/Ancestry.aspx

Embed code looks like this:

bc.. <div id='eavesdropper'>
</div>
<script type='text/javascript'>
jwplayer('eavesdropper').setup({
file: '/videos/ACOM_Eavesdropper_30.mp4',
image: '/videos/ACOM_Eavesdropper_30_screenshot.jpg',
width: '552',
height: '315'
});
</script>

Do you mean iOS specifically?

No, also on Mac computers. I'll try to get OS/Browser version.

Works on Safari on Mac here.

OS v 10.7.5
Safari v 6.0.3

There's another setup but I'm still waiting on a response from that user.

We are using OSX 10.8.4
Safari 6.0.5

Ethan. It only runs on my Chrome for a couple of seconds then comes up: "Error loading media. File could not be played."
Win 7, 64 bit.

Weird. It works on my Win7 PC in Chrome too.

I have the same issue with OSX Safari 6.0.5 and Quicktime version 10.1

MP4 works in every other browser except for Safari 6.0.5 for OSX.

Do you have an example?

This page is the exact same behavior as ours: https://www.ihaforum.org/land/Ancestry.aspx

I can't share mine because it's a private site but that page should be the exact same issue. We are going to try to force Safari to use flash in the mean time with primary: 'flash'

That page doesn’t have the issue for me though, but yeah, try that as a work around.

By the way Ethan, did you try with Safari 6.0.5 and Quicktime 10.1 specifically?

Ethan, an update. The primary flash work around works fine for us. Is there anything else we can do to help you fix the HTML5 support?

I did on my Mac. Glad the work around worked for you.
