SOS!! JW6 Premium + Wowza + Wirecast = IOS Streaming Nightmare

Hello everyone! Let me begin by apologizing for being totally ignorant of how this all works. I have spent countless hours trying to get a live stream working for my church and am having a terrible time.

Most of the people who watch our stream access it on iOS mobile devices like the iPhone or iPad.

To date I have successfully figured out how to set up Wowza, Wirecast, and integrated JW6 onto a Wordpress site using an RTMP Flash setting. The stream looks fantastic on all desktop computers. But all of the iOS stuff is another story.

I realize iOS doesn't work with Flash - I was under the impression that JW6 Premium converted this? This is the reason I purchased it. I have tried unsuccessfully to get JW6 to show my stream. I am at a complete loss - what am I missing? I have literally spent over 24 complete hours working on this with no resolution. I would greatly appreciate anyones assistance.

You are missing the fact that IOS does not support Flash. So you cannot use RTMP. You can add mp4 files in the source or best use Apple HLS streaming (.M3U8) which work very well with Flash on PC. If you use Woowza server for RTMP, your source should be something like bc.. file: 'http://XXXX/vod/_definst_/smil:YYYY/ZZZZ.smil/jwplayer.smil
use insteadbc.. file: 'http://XXXX/vod/_definst_/smil:YYYY/ZZZZ.smil/manifest.m3u8'
for HLS streaming. And if you want your player work with Android or Windows Phone you should also add plain mp4 file (you cannot use Wowza to stream plain mp4 files, but Apache or IIS)

You are linking to a 192.168 address for your RTMP link, that will only work within your local network, that is a router IP…
