Wordpress Embed - 403 Error

I'm trying to embed my JWPlatform-hosted videos on a Wordpress site. If I copy the embed code as HTML, it works fine. However, when I use the JWPlayer plugin I'm getting the error: "Error Loading Playlist 403." For a number of reasons, I want to use the plugin, rather than the direct HTML embed.

Browsing around, it seems like it could be related to https, but I'm not an enterprise client and the content masking DNS on the JWPlayer plugin settings is set to the default: content.jwplatform.com--and I can't seem to delete this.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would expect an HTTPS URL to be working on an HTTP site, but an HTTP URL will not load on an HTTPS site.

Can you provide a link to your test page? I would like to see the requests that are being made.

Thanks Todd.

I posted a test page at: https://mediarichlearning.com/jwplayer-test/

I've tried it with different videos, different players, etc.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "...an HTTP URL will not load on an HTTPS site." This website is https--what determines whether the video is being served from an HTTP URL?

What version of the plugin are you running? Can you make a page that ONLY has the plugin in-use?

Running the latest version of the plugin., 1.61.

I updated the page and removed the HTML embedded version. Now it's just the plugin. https://mediarichlearning.com/jwplayer-test/

Did you recently turn on secure video URLs in your dashboard property settings?

It's turned on, but not recently. Turning it off clears up the issue. Thanks for that suggestion. A couple follow-up questions:

1) Why does the Secure Video URL allow the HTML embeds, but not the WP plugin embeds?
2) This is a members-only website and I "lock" pages to regulate access, so would turning-off this setting allow others to embed my videos or save a link for later access--say even after their subscription has expired?

I think that you might not have the most up-to-date version of the plugin. If you go tp your WP-ADMIN page and go to settings > JW Player is there “Timeout for signed links” setting? If there isn’t, update the player. If there is, set the setting to at least 1 and then turn on secure video URLs and it should work.
