Want to track clicks and impressions for video

I would like to track clicks and impressions for a video using DFP ad tags for a client, but it is not a pre-roll advertising video.

I have created an inventory item in Google DFP, but I am not sure that is the best way to track this video since that is really made for pre-roll?

What is the best way to attach the DFP tags to the video?

Once you have the DFP tag, you can set up a player with an empty video. DFP will receive the tracking events.
