Spherical 360 video issue

Hi,

We are using JW Player on one of our website. When we select a video which is shot using 360 Theta camera, the video thumbnail is showing the 2 sphere style thumbnail, and when playing the 360 video, it is not playing correctly. It is playing spherically, unlike the other 360 videos from other sources.

If we run the video through company app on iPhone provided by the Camera company, it adds some kind of metadata that makes it appear properly. And if we upload that video to JW it also works properly. Is there a way to make these videos work directly with JWPlayer.

Most 360 camera makers have desktop software that allow you to convert the raw output of the camera to an equirectangular projection format that is compatible with our player. If they don’t already have this, you would need to find some other software to convert ricoh-theta dual fisheye video to an equirectangular format.
