no captions

I have been using jw player for years in self-hosted mode, and am trying to setup a url video in the dashboard for the first time.

I have the url video and poster image working OK, but despite having uploaded a captions track, i cannot get the captions to display, or for the player to show the "CC" button.

Showing source on the page that contains the embed code shows nothing in the tracks [] section - despite me having added the vtt file to the tracks in the dashboard.

I know my vtt file is fine because i use it on a self-hosted site.

What am I missing?

I am able to reproduce this issue. I am escalating it now. In the meantime, can you host the video with us or manually embed the player instead of using the single-line embed code?

I spoke to a product manager and he also advised that you could reference the v2 delivery API to get JW Platform-hosted tracks for an external URL. Check out this developer document and this quick demo page I made.
