HD quality supported on iOS Safari?

I'm trying to understand why the HD quality menu doesn't appear on our version of the JW Player on iOS Safari and iOS Chrome. Is this expected, and if yes, why?

Here's an example URL where the HD menu shows up on desktop browsers and Andriod (just not Firefox), but not on iOS Chrome or iOS Safari:

Thank you for the question. The expected behavior for HLS playback in Safari (and iOS) is for the HD button not to appear. The reason for this behavior is that we leave HLS’s adaptive streaming capabilities to display the best possible quality level.
