Support for HTTP redirect of MP4 file URL

Hi there,

our video mp4 files are now located on a different CDN with a different URL. I'm wondering if it's possible to implement (in our loadbalancer) a HTTP 301 redirect from our old URL to the new URL for the video files.

The question is: Does the JW player support redirects for the MP4 source file?

Hi Marc,

It should work as long as the player is not rendered in Flash since Flash does not support re-directs. You would have to try it to see if it works. I would recommend making sure you have type: “mp4” included in the player configuration, right after file to make sure the player knows to expect a MP4.
