VAST could not be loaded (IE9/10)

When testing JW Player 7 we noticed that our ads return an error on IE9/10. They give a 301 with the message 'VAST could not be loaded'. On IE11, Chrome and other browsers there are no issues. Anyone got an idea how to fix this?

Hello,

Have you tried the ads in either the JW Player Ad Tester: https://developer.jwplayer.com/tools/ad-tester/ or the GoogIMA Vast Inspector: https://developers.google.com/interactive-media-ads/docs/sdks/html5/vastinspector with a basic GoogIMA Ad: https://pubads.g.doubleclick.net/gampad/ads?sz=640×480&iu=/124319096/external/single_ad_samples&ciu_szs=300×250&impl=s&gdfp_req=1&env=vp&output=vast&unviewed_position_start=1&cust_params=deployment%3Ddevsite%26sample_ct%3Dlinear&correlator= or VAST Tag: http://search.spotxchange.com/vast/2.0/85394?VPAID=js&content_page_url=page-url&cb=random-number&player_width=player-width&player_height=player-height . There could potentially be something wrong with your ad tag that might need to be addressed by the ad network.

Hi,

Both JW Player Ad Tester and Vast Inspector play the ad without any problems. I wonder, if there would be something wrong with the XML, wouldn't this be a general problem and not one specific for IE9/10?

Hello Andro,

It could potentially be a number of things, namely if that content is potentially using frameworks that are not supported in IE9/10. This is especially true since this seems to persist outside of our player and in other places. You may want to work with the ad provider to see if there are any known issues with their ad content and legacy browsers.
