3rd Party Vast certification for JW Player

Within JW Player documentation there is clear reference to the 3rd party Ad Servers that are considered "Supported Ad Servers" https://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1431638-ad-formats-reference
If I am a engineer/developer working on VAST 4.0 creative for an IAB member company, how do I ensure that my VAST urls are considered "certified" in the case that a clients asks if we are certified for video inventory served via JW Player? Does a VAST certification with Google (IMA) also include JW Player since JW Player is a Certified Publisher Partner?

Hi there,

The criteria to become certified with an ad network varies between the different ad networks so I can’t speak to exactly what it would take for you to be certified. I know that usually they just want to see that their ads appear properly and within spec when played in our player. We do have an Ad Tester available for anyone to test various ad tags within our player.

However, it’s also important to know that we do not yet fully support VAST 4.0 ads. We are currently scheduled to include more support for that specification in version 7.7 within the next few months.

As for your last question, I am not quite sure what you mean. A certification with an ad network is between you and the ad network, as long as you are able to play the ads in your player of choice. As long as the ads follow the VAST specification, they should be playable in the player.

Please let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

Thank you!
