Call to action

https://www.jwplayer.com/blog/call-to-action-with-jw-player/

The old post is archived so the example no longer works and comments are no longer allowed but I'm looking into adding some call to actions to some videos and had a few queries.

Are multiple call to actions possible across different areas of the video and how limited are these across different devices? Will the work on mobile?

Hi, Alex.

The example that was published on that blog post was just an example of what could possibly be done with our player. However, since it’s not built-in functionality with the player, we technically do not provide support for it.

With that being said, I was able to get the example working with JW 7.3.6 on this page: http://qa.jwplayer.com/~abussey/demos/general/cta.html. You should be able to look at the source code and be put in the right direction. Since all the script is doing is dynamically creating new DOM elements with JavaScript, you should theoretically be able to create whatever you want.

I’m not 100% sure if it’ll work on mobile. I would assume it would work on iPads and Android devices that can play the video inline, but not when the video is in fullscreen as we can’t render anything on top of the player at that point.

Please let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

Thank you!
