file format not working

There are few video files (format - avi, mpg, wmv) which are working on JW player online, but not when we implemented JW Player in our software system. Why? Is there anything specific thing we should take care of?

Our player does not support AVI or WMV, so we convert your videos to MP4 when you upload to us.

Please see https://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1403635-media-format-reference for more details on the file formats we support.

Is it the same case with .wav, .mpg and f4v formats?

Those files might work on certain computers, but your best option to make sure they work on as many computers as possible would be to convert them to MP4s encoded with the H.264 video codec and AAC audio codec. There are free programs like Handbrake and ffmpeg that can help do this for you.

The best way to test your files would be to load the URL directly in your web browser. If the file plays directly in the browser, then it will most likely work in our player as well.
