H264 Encoded MOV File Doesn't Play on FireFox in HTML5 PLasyer

The video plays fine in Chrome and IE but fails to play in Firefox with an error: "Error loading media: File could not be played".

Hi, there.

The reason why our player cannot play MOV files in Firefox in HTML5 is because Firefox doesn’t natively support MOV files. I do see how our Media Format Reference did make it seem like it would work, so I had the person responsible for that article to change it to remove MOV files from our support.

MOV files are great, but really only work in a couple of situations – (a) the browser would need to natively support it and (b) the viewer would have to have QuickTime Player installed on their computer. The MOV files will playback in browsers when the player is in Flash, but the absolute best practice would be to convert the MOV file to MP4. We suggest using Handbrake, which is free, to convert the files.
