Migration from Pay-as-you-go

I received an email notification about migration of our account from the pay-as-you-go model to the new subscription based payment system. The message notes that I will migrated to the Free account by default if you get no response by March 1st. Our account currently only uses 1 gig of storage space and less than 1 gig of streaming per month. That seems to fit well within the limits of the free account. Do we give up anything else by moving to the free account? Is there a comparison chart that shows the differences in the free and paid account? Thanks for any information provided.

You’re not really giving up anything in the migration. The new account dashboard has more robust analytics, new built-in player builder features like Chromecasting, and you can even add additional users to log into your same account.

So, with the free account, the embedded players that are on our site will still function as they do now? Will there be any JW Player branding added to them? Not a big deal, but I just to have a handle on what to expect ;-)

Yes, your existing player embed codes will continue to work. Your video IDs and player IDs are not changing either. Even your API key and secret remain the same. There’s a change to the way your analytics are being reported, but you will still have access to the old data as well.

Hi. This was my original question, but since the migration the user account I was using is no longer in my account, so I had to log in with my admin account.

Anyway... I see that my account has been migrated to the free account, and I also see that now there is a big JWPlayer logo on all video playback. You'll note that I specifically asked about this in the post dated 2/4. Had I had known about this prior to the migration I might have considered other options.

If you are seeing a JW logo on your videos, my guess is that you have a JW6 player on the page. JW6 Free has a logo, but JW7 Free does not.

You have two options to remove the logo:

1) Change the player on the page to JW7
2) Purchase a JW7 Premium subscription, which will then change the JW6 players in your account to JW6 Premium, which does not have a JW logo

Hi Todd. Upgrading the player to ver 7 removed the logo. As always, thanks for the quick response and the help!
