Timeout for ad loading

Hello! Sometimes happens that the ad server is to busy, or the network load is high and something wrong happens with ad initialization - the player says "loading ad" and stuck on it, or it takes 10-15 second to start to play ad. Could this be configured in that way that if ad not start playing in 5-10 second it skipped and video starts to play?

Hi, there.

Our player already has built-in functionality to help itself with getting stuck loading ads.

For non-VPAID VAST ad tags, the timeout is 5 seconds, but it is between when the ad request is initially made and when the final VAST file is returned. Ad tags are often wrapped in other ad tags, wrapped in even more ad tags. So the clock will stop ticking when the last ad tag in the chain is returned, which should be the one containing the media files.

For VPAID ad tags, the timeout is 15 seconds, but the timeout works differently as it does for normal VAST tags. The timeout is between when the VPAID wrapper is loaded and when the ad starts playing.

If you are finding that your ad tags are always not loading or behaving improperly, I would suggest contacting your ad network for troubleshooting.

Please let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

Thank you!
