Jwplayer 7.2.2 Autostart problem in firefox
Videos won't play if set to autostart in Firefox (version 42) with the new JWP version 7.2.2.
Other browsers work fine.
Can you please check this issue?

Check the URL to your media is a fully qualified URL and not a relative one.

Dear support,
the problem is that I am using relative url for my media path in embed code like this:
playerInstance.setup({ file: "//www.mysite.com/video/test.mp4"...
With Jwplayer 7.1.4 this worked fine but now I had to change from "//www.mysite.com/video/test.mp4" to
"http://www.mysite.com/video/test.mp4" for the video to start in Firefox, as jherrieven suggested.

I seem to be experiencing the same issue.
The video play fine in Chrome or IE, but when I load the page in Firefox and hit play, the loading icon keep rotating. I have to pause and resume for the video to start playing.

I also use relative URL in my pages.
Is there an ETA about the correction of this bug%. Relative url are fairly common, especially when page with http / https feed contents are in question which make this issue major.

Same problem for me while testing JW Player 7.2.4 directly inside an article in Joomla 3.4.
Video does not start when I press Play icon and the loading icon keeps rotating. The video starts only when I pause and resume to play.
I notice that it works fine when I change the video path from "/videos/file.mp4" to "http://localhost/videos/file.mp4".
Are you working on that serious problem ?

Same problem.
MP4 video in server (or localhost like XAMMP) loaded with Firefox doesn't start and the loading icon keeps rotating, but IE and Chrome are OK.
But through same URL loaded directly works fine...

JW Player 7.4.2 Firefox problem. Video starts only when i pause and resume to play.
IE and chrome are ok.

This issue sometimes happens in Firefox if there are encoding issues with the MP4s themselves. Please try to re-encode your MP4 with a tool like Handbrake and try to reproduce the issue again. If you still experience the issue, please supply me with a link to a reproduction page.

Hello,
"JW Player has a long running issue with playing media in Firefox where the path to the media uses a "relative" or protocol agnostic URL (starts with "//").
This has now supposedly been fixed in JW7.4+
Just checked this out with JW7.4.2 and they appear to have actually broken it again."

You are the first customer I heard about with this issue. After taking your case, I heard of a few more and it looks to actually be a similar issue to that of the relative path issue that used to affect our player in Firefox. Both that issue and this new one are not caused by our player and I can confirm that your issue does not reproduce itself in Firefox Beta or Firefox Developer Edition.
