business logic behind error messages thrown by onAdError event

Hi,

I am running jw version 6.12.4956 in flash mode in FireFox.

My LiveRail tag produces a lot of onaderror events to fire in the player with the following error messages that I don't know if the player has failed or the ad server has provided bad XML:

1. VAST could not be loaded
2. Error Playing Ad Tag

I can't find any descriptions of what these really mean! So we can better understand how to treat these error messages (eg change our tag, tell the ad server etc.), what is the business logic in your javascript file that results in each error message?

Thanks for your time

Hello,

A good way to test Ad implementation is to try the ad tag in our Ad Tester which runs the latest release of our player and lists specific ad errors: http://demo.jwplayer.com/ad-tester/ . i would also recommend running your ad through Googles ad tester as a reference point as well: https://developers.google.com/interactive-media-ads/docs/sdks/html5/vastinspector .

I always find these ad video testers don't provide ads, possibly because the flash player that loads can see the top-level domain is jwplayer or google and so the ad server doesn't serve an ad.

Your thoughts?

I used your Ad Tester and it only said "There was an ad error" in green. Where is the detailed error info?

Hello Jeremy,

We’ve recently introduced some refinements into out code base. The release is 7.2.0/ If you try the new library in your setup from your dashboard, do you experience the same behavior?
