in streaming case, does the premium jwplayer have any communication with your server?


our company paid for a premium licence and I have tried testing for our new system with jwplayer.

most problems we had are solved by using the premium jwplayer.

but there is an issue about stability.

I wonder if jwplayer have any communication with your server.

if jwplayer have any communication with your server,
it has an effect on our system when your server have system failure.


I tested local playback in offline state.
it doesnt have any problem on local server.

by this test, I known that jwplayer doesnt have any communication with your server.

but local playback is supported by free licence.
and in case of streaming, jwplayer is supported by premium licence...

I cant test this because streaming is not on offline but just on online.

maybe, for me to test this, it is necessary to change our firewall setting such that all ip is blocked except for cdn server ip for streaming.


before changing our firewall setting, my boss commanded me ask this to you with telling me it is more certain.

Our player does periodically have a network connection with our server for tracking purposes, although no private information is transmitted.

What Alex means to say is that our player sends analytics pings during playback, but these pings only help us determine video playback metrics, not track viewers.

thank you for your answer.

then... can I eliminate any transmition of the ping for your server.
I tested a communication in environment restricted by firewall.
and I could find out delay of playback maybe caused by connection with your server.
finally the video is played
but there is delay until the video is started playing over 30seconds.
we can't use jwplayer in these environment :(....

please save me T.T..... I wouldn't like to find other solution..

We do offer a specific type of license that allows you to disable these pings, but it is only available with our Enterprise-level account. Otherwise, there is no way to disable that part of our player.

does the enterprise-level licence has a option for pings to diasable?
how much is the cost? and what are the differences from premium licence except for things specified on the link such as high volume, Content Protection and so on?
