All I can find is the download for version 6 on the Account Dashboard. There are various resources stating there is a downloads section on the Players page, but this does not exist for me. I've tried downloading the source file from the github releases, however using that file, the player states the license key is invalid.

You can find the player libraries in the Player Account under Players→Downloads(to the far left on the page). This will provide access to all the info you need.

Thank you for the attempted help. However the information you are giving me appears to be inaccurate. In my previous post I included a link to a screenshot of the 'Players' page while logged in.
If you could maybe show me a screenshot of directions. Or take my picture and circle where I am supposed to be looking for this downloads section.

I see what might be the issue. You are using a Platform account which does not provide downloads for the 7 player at this time. You can however use the Player library as a JS reference in your header which would allow access to the 7 library. You can find this via the Players name hyperlink → “Get Library URL”
