Hi We are having an issue with JW PLayer in Chrome only. Link is above, but on all our videos we are unable to click through to different points in the video. This only happens in Chrome.

Thanks

Nathan

Hi Nathan

I don't see any difference between browsers myself and I can click to a future point in the timeline and get it to playback,
However, there are fundamental problems with your video, most notably it is 720MB and runs under 10 minutes. This is a data rate that is unlikely to give anybody anywhere in the world a good experience. You should re-encode the video with handbrake.
Also, it would be a good idea to not have whitespace in the file name, use _ between words all the time as a good practice.

Hi, Nathan.

Mark is correct – in order to actively seek to different places of the video, the browser would have had to either have that part of the video already buffered in memory, or it would have to start playback again from that spot. Either way, having a video of 720MB would cause major issues for your user experience, including seeking to different parts.

As Mark said, I would recommend downloading Handbrake and re-encoding the file, making sure to keep the resolution a respectable size (the default should be fine) and make sure the “Web Optimized” feature is checked.

Also, different browsers could have different issues with whitespace in URLs, so I would recommend either removing the spaces entirely, or replacing them with underscores.

Please let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

Thank you!
