JW version 7 with Vimeo

I know JW doesnt officially support Vimeo, but I would like to ask this question anyway in hopes of getting some feedback from other users.

We have played Vimeo videos in a JW version 6 player with decent success across most devices. (We have a Vimeo Pro account and pull the video file URL like many other users). However, we made the upgrade to the new version 7.0 and things really went backwards. We lost the ability to play video completely in several browsers and it just seems clunkier in the browsers that it does work with (takes longer to load, can't scrub like we used to, etc).

Has anyone else experienced this issue with Vimeo videos in JW7? If so, have you been able to find any work-arounds?

Are you using the HLS streams from Vimeo? I helped another customer recently that was trying to use the HTTPS stream on an HTTP site, so they had to remove the S from their video URL.
