We have live streaming server and using JWPlayer.

http://wakeup.lt/test2

Unfortunately video is not working on Android Lollipop devices and in Firefox browser.

What could be the problem?

Firefox does play the video when Flash is installed. Using version 40.0.2.

Why it is not using HTML5 by default??

Works on Lollipo in Chrome. Firefox doesn't support HLS

Our clients do not see the stream in Lollipop Chrome. Did you test the link http://wakeup.lt/test2

It is interesting, that another link http://wakeup.lt/svencele is working.

What is the difference between these?

Yes I tested http://wakeup.lt/test2 on lollipop
Not sure, maybe it is hardware dependant as well as mobile OS dependant

Hi.

I’m able to reproduce issues playing your http://wakeup.lt/test2 stream in Chrome for Android on a Galaxy S6 running 5.1.1. I’m going to escalate this to our engineering team and I will let you know when I have a response.

Please note that we do not support Firefox for Android. Please see http://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1403653-browser-device-reference for more information.

It looks like it’s working on earlier versions of Lollipop that we have on a few devices here, as well. I’ll update the Engineering team with those findings so it will hopefully help them figure this out.

Thanks for letting us know!

Hi, there.

It appears that the issue with wakeup.lt/test2 is either with the manifest itself or on the server side, as embedding http://wakeup.lt/hls/stream.m3u8 in a standard HTML5 video tag also does not work on Android. So, it looks like the issue with that particular stream is not an issue with our player. I would suggest perhaps recreating the manifest and trying it in a standard <video src="http://example.com/example.m3u8"></video> embed.

Please let me know if you need any more help or have any other questions.

Thank you!
