Hello... using JWplayer 6.12 on wordpress with KingSize Theme from ThemeForest... Everything work just fine except, how can I get rid of the JW watermark ? I can't find it anywhere on JW website !! I noticed that version 7 will have a free Pro version without the watermark but it seems unavailable at this time !
A JW 6 Pro or higher key is required to remove our watermark in our WordPress plugin. You are correct about the JW 7 Free accounts not having a watermark, but there is currently no way to use a JW 7 key in our WordPress plugin. Since you have a JW 7 Free account, we give you a JW 6 Free key in your new dashboard, but this key will not remove the watermark.
Your best option to remove the watermark in JW 6 would be to purchase a JW 7 Premium license. After your purchase, the JW 6 key we include in your JW 7 account dashboard is also Premium, which means this JW 6 key will remove the watermark in the plugin.
I do not know a timeline for when a JW7 plugin for WordPress will be available.
The only way to remove the watermark in JW 6 is to pay for a license. As I mentioned before, the JW6 key will give you as part of a JW7 license does not remove the watermark.
Our wordpress plugin was removed right around the time of JW7 launch for a cross-scripting security access from within the admin panel. We are actively looking for the best way to update this plugin to better support the latest features available JW Player and fix any security holes.
We are working on fixing the security issue and should have that up within the next few weeks. In the meantime, I have attached a patched version of the plugin that will let you use JW7. All you need to do is install this manually and grab your JW7 license key. Choosing the player edition will open up the features available to that license.
I hope that this patch will work for the short term as we work on providing a more unified and secure plugin.
Definitely don’t want anyone to pay for a feature that is available in our Free player, that is why we put it there! Todd’s answer is not wrong that was the fastest way to get the functionality at that time. If our real fix to the plugin is going to take any longer than a few more weeks, we’ll look into a way of providing trial Premium keys for those wanting to use Wordpress – thanks for this idea James.
