Update from 6.10 to 6.12 getting Error loading skin: Incompatible player version

Some browsers get that message in our test environment while trying to load a video, some others don't.
I don't get it.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the JW Player support team. This may happen on two levels. One being that some of the browsers trying to access the player may not have the Flash plugin installed and secondly, there may be crossdomain access issues. I see you have a crossdomain file with very specific access for certain domains.

Kindly,

Yesterday I emptied the cache and deleted the cookies but it would still not work. Today it works, so we updated the real site, and now the same error happens there. If it's a crossdomain issue, why does it work on the test site today, without touching anything?

The file jwplayer.flash.swf was old and server+client cached.
We're still working on it but figured out that the problem is that.

Thing is, that file is called by jwplayer.js and it doesn't add any version identifier to the swf player's URL, that way if the browser has it cached, even a Ctrl+F5 won't refresh it (which is different from the skin file, called with the version in the URL like 6/12/skins/glow.xml).

We're going to manage this ourselves (or just wait for our users' cache to clear itself) but I felt like telling you what caused it so you have an answer here.

Greetings and thank you

Randy
