Auto Bandwidth detection and play appropriate bitrate for Mp4 files

We are creating multiple resolution with different bitrate using mp4.

Can we use auto bandwidth detection feature for streaming different resolutions based on the bandwidth.

Details:
Format : mp4 with H264 with 240,480,720 and 1020.
Streaming Type: HTTP
JWplayer : Latest version

If player supports please provide a link for the example.

When bandwidth changes does it do a range download from the point of switch over?

Any sort of auto bitrate changing will need to occur using HLS streaming. We do not have a method of changing qualities on the fly with static MP4 files.
