Audio Sync is out on Firefox

Firefox seems to be the only browser with this condition -

http://goo.gl/jr7a4I

Then click on Blue Bloods / In The Box

Video plays fine everywhere else, but for what ever reason, Firefox 38.0 plays it out of sync.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Hi,

There seems to be some issues with your files themselves. This is the file that you have set: http://wac.c20c.edgecastcdn.net/00C20C/FTP_videos02-19-2014/ChicagoFire-KeepYourMouthShut.mp4
but it gives a 404 error and isn’t working on any browser.

What is the link to the page that is breaking on Firefox?

Thanks,
Carolyn

Hi,

I fixed the old link with a process of elimination

Here is the issue recreated:

http://hollydaledirector.com/outofsync.php
PW: sync

Only seems to be happening on Firefox.

Hi,

Thanks for providing a new link. It appears to be an issue with the codec of your MP4 file. I set the primary mode to flash and it breaks in Chrome and Safari as well. Therefore, this isn’t just a browser compatibility issue.

Here is the breakdown of your file:
Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from ‘http://wac.C20C.edgecastcdn.net/00C20C/FTP_videos02-19-2014/Blue_Bloods-InTheBox.mp4’:
Metadata:
major_brand : isom
minor_version : 512
compatible_brands: isomiso2avc1mp41
creation_time : 2015-02-23 10:18:27
encoder : Lavf54.6.100
Duration: 00:39:54.31, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 602 kb/s
Stream #0:0(und): Video: h264 (High) (avc1 / 0×31637661), yuv420p, 720×404, 501 kb/s, 23.98 fps, 23.98 tbr, 24k tbn, 47.95 tbc (default)
Metadata:
creation_time : 2015-02-23 10:18:27

Stream #0:1(und): Audio: aac (LC) (mp4a / 0×6134706D), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 95 kb/s (default)
Metadata:

handler_name : SoundHandler

I would suggest re-transcoding the file to see if this fixes the issue. Here is a valid mp4 file that works in HTML5 and flash if you need one for testing purposes: http://qa.jwplayer.com/support-demos/static/bunny.mp4

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi Carolyn,

Thanks so much of your time and efforts :)

I know very little about encoding. I get the videos from an editor and post them to the site. They usually work perfectly. Once in a while I have this same issue with Firefox.

Could you give me the encoding settings used on the bunny.mp4 file so I can pass it along to my editor?

Thanks Again!!
