Please give us a link to your site. Usually it's Firefox that has trouble with mouseover issues, not Chrome!

We are experiencing the same issue with the Flash player (6.8 and 6.11) in all browsers on PCs and Macs: the control bar does not auto hide after playing a video.

One cannot dismiss this as "expected behavior" because the HTML5 player always hides the control bar immediately after playback begins.

I do not have my own URL to offer for testing, however I am able to recreate on several RTMP Flash players. For example...

Steps to recreate:
1) With Flash enabled, load/refresh http://79423.analytics.edgesuite.net/JWPlayer_Test/Sample_JWPlayer_MultiBitrate_RTMP.html
2) Click "play" in middle of video area
3) Move cursor off the video area to the white background area on either side (not down over the control bar) and wait indefinitely
4) Flash player: control bar stays visible during video playback. HTML5 player: control bar automatically hides.
5) Flash player, optional: to hide the control bar, move cursor over control bar (ie pause, slider, HD, volume, or fullscreen buttons) and then off the control bar

There do not appear to be any API methods to show/hide the control bar, or set the timeout for hiding it. It would be great if this bug could be addressed and perhaps the addition of some API features.

We are in our final stages of testing JWPlayer for larger use, but this is a showstopper for us. We cannot ask our users to utilize workarounds such as mousing over the control bar, entering full screen mode, etc.

Recreated with JWPlayer versions 6.8.4616 and 6.11.4923, Flash version [16,0,0,305] on current User-Agents (Chrome, Chrome Canary, Firefox, Firefox Nightly, IE):
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/41.0.2272.53 Safari/537.36
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/42.0.2307.0 Safari/537.36

Another URL for recreating this issue, from JWPlayer's own support site:
http://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1430398-dynamic-rtmp-streaming

Use in step #1 above.

Yes, the Flash version does that. Oddly, once you've gotten the control bar to fade out the first time by mousing over it (instead of moving off the video without mousing over the control bar itself), it subsequently fades in and out normally, by mousing over the video anywhere. Same behavior in all browsers.

I contacted JWPlayer Support and they replied with:

This will be fixed with JW 6.12. It’s a known bug. You can confirm this with our CDN version here:
