Watermark not showing

Hello,

In my JW Platform account I uploaded a watermark (png of 100x100 pixels with logo and transparent background). The status says 'ready' but when I stream one of my videos hosted on JW Platform the watermark doesn't shop up. Do I have to to apply the watermark to the player and how can I do this?

Thanks,
Jan

Indeed, this is something that you need to do via the player itself under the “layout” tab. http://support.jwplayer.com/customer/portal/articles/1483071-designing-players

You can choose this on a per-player basis, or can have this watermark applied to your video files themselves.

Ok I got it working under the layout tab of the player.
So I can apply the watermark to the player or to the video files themselves. Which is the best option to discourage theft of my content or is it the same?

If these are added to the video itself, anyone who downloads the video file will also download the watermark. I would suggest this option if theft is a concern.

to add the watermark to the video itself is this something I have to do myself in a video editing program before I upload the video or is this something that can be done on the JW Platform directly (and if so how)?

This is configured from your templates section. Each individual template has the option to add a watermark.

Oh perfect! Now apart from the watermarks I'm also interested in signed Urls to prevent hotlinking. On the JW platform I saw this PHP function that generates signed URLs:
http://support-static.jwplayer.com/API/php-example.txt
But how does it work? Do I have to upload this PHP function to my website (which runs on PHP) to generate the URLs?

The timestamp would be generated by PHP, so you would indeed need to utilize this on a page where the player is embedded dynamically.
